Building Structures

Our practice has its roots in providing structural engineering services and we continue to advise a diverse group of clients in this area, as a core part of our consultancy. We believe that we have an active role to play in ensuring that the cost objectives for a project are achieved.

In recent years, we have completed a number of major high-rise buildings in both Australia and the Middle East. The structures for all the buildings designed by BG&E are examples of cost effective innovation using sound engineering principles. They include the use of very high strength concrete, sophisticated design optimisation of the wind bracing system and rapidly constructed, cost effective floor structures. Our structural engineers are amongst the leaders in development of a number of construction techniques for buildings. We are one of the foremost exponents of the use of pre-cast concrete for both structural and high quality cladding purposes.

We are well versed in the systems building approach to low cost structures in commercial, residential and industrial construction. There is a growing range of prefabricated products which we have the awareness and skill to use appropriately and effectively. We have strong expertise in high quality architectural projects, incorporating concrete, steel, timber and masonry. Simplicity and attention to detail are key factors in our designs, coupled with a sound understanding of structural systems, which we apply with flair.
